The workshop behind El Momtaz Decor
El Momtaz Decor is a small workshop and shop in Alexandria, on Egypt's Mediterranean coast. It makes and sells a short, fixed list of décor pieces and sends them, crated, to buyers at home and abroad.
A short list, made carefully
The name means "the excellent", and the shop holds itself to that in a narrow way: eight items on one price list, each described exactly. There are pierced brass lanterns in three sizes, khayamiya appliqué panels in two, mosaic glass shades, engraved copper trays with folding stands, and embroidered cushion covers. Everything on the list is new and made for sale now, by people who do this work every day, at benches in Alexandria.
We are a shop that sells objects. We are not a design practice, we do not visit homes, and we do not take on work in a room. The list stays short on purpose: when a piece is made over and over, its measurements stay true and its price can be fixed in advance.
From the form to the carrier
- Your request. You choose pieces on the order form, which shows the price of each and adds one crate for your region.
- Our check. We look at the shelf for each piece and finish, and answer within two working days.
- The payment link. Our e-mail gives the exact total in US dollars and a secure link to pay it. Nothing is taken before you use that link.
- The crate. Pieces are polished or pressed, photographed for you on the packing bench, wrapped and crated, then handed to a tracked carrier within three working days.
- After delivery. If anything arrives damaged, or a piece does not suit you, the returns page explains what we do.
What we will do, and what we leave alone
We will tell you the true size, material and finish of anything on the list; send a photograph of the actual panel or shade before you pay, if colour matters to you; pack every piece so that it travels well; and answer any question about care, candles or the plug-in fitting a lantern takes.
We will not plan or style a room; hang, mount, fit or connect anything in your home; sell antiques or pieces presented as old; or make items in measurements other than the ones listed. These limits are what let the list stay priced and dependable.
