Where the crates go
El Momtaz Decor ships from Alexandria to addresses inside Egypt and to the regions in the table below. If your country is not covered by any of them, write to [email protected] before ordering and we will tell you plainly whether a carrier will take a crate there.
Costs and times per region
Each charge covers one crate, including the packing materials. Times count from the day the crate leaves us and are in working days, Monday to Friday, at the destination.
| Region | One crate | Delivery time |
|---|---|---|
| Within Egypt | $12 | 2 to 4 working days |
| Gulf and the rest of the Middle East and North Africa | $34 | 5 to 8 working days |
| Europe and the United Kingdom | $46 | 6 to 10 working days |
| United States and Canada | $58 | 7 to 12 working days |
| Australia, New Zealand and Asia | $62 | 8 to 14 working days |
One crate holds a large lantern, or two medium lanterns, or up to four small ones, together with any panels, covers, a shade or a tray that fit around them. When an order needs a second crate, it is charged at half the regional rate. Orders of textiles alone — panels and cushion covers with no metal or glass — travel in a padded mailer at half the regional rate. The order form shows a single crate; our payment e-mail states the final shipping charge before you pay.
Dispatch
Everything on the list is made ahead and kept on the shelf. Your crate leaves the workshop within three working days of your payment arriving, Sunday to Thursday. If a colourway or motif runs short, we say so before asking for payment, never after.
Packaging
Lanterns and shades are wrapped in felt, held by foam blocks so they cannot move, and boxed inside a crate of thin wooden slats lined with corrugated card. Trays travel face-down on a padded board with the stand folded beside them. Panels and covers are rolled on a card tube inside a cotton sleeve. Everything we use can be reused or recycled.
Tracking
Every crate and mailer goes by a tracked carrier. The tracking reference is e-mailed to you on the day of dispatch, and you can follow the parcel on the carrier's own tracking page. Import duties and local taxes charged at the destination are set by that country and are paid by the person receiving the parcel; we cannot estimate them for you.
If a parcel is lost or arrives damaged
If the tracking shows no movement for ten working days, tell us and we open a trace with the carrier. If the carrier declares the parcel lost, we either send the same pieces again at no cost or refund everything you paid, shipping included — your choice. If a crate arrives damaged, photograph the box and the piece before unpacking further and write to us within 48 hours of delivery; we will replace the piece or refund it in full, as described on the returns and refunds page.
